Editorial Guide: 

Zambezi Magic (DSTV channel 162 & GOTV channel 5) is looking for new drama series. The drama series must be in line with current content trends, while remaining rooted in the nuances of the Zambian market.

Keeping in mind current trends, the themes explored in this drama must aim to disrupt and challenge the status quo, to be bold, authentic and in touch, to influence and connect the audience to their Zambian roots. We are looking for stories that places family at the centre of the story. The journey can manifest itself in starting careers, relationships, families, etc. We are looking for stories that are different from stories we have explored and seen. The focus of these stories must be a new and exciting journey, making us vested in our characters.

Creative Requirements: 

Proposals that are replicas of our current drama slate will not be considered.

Exploring new and fresh ideas that tap into the nuances of the market, please bear the following in mind:

1. The characters must be  relatable yet complex and engaging
2. The themes must cover real life experiences e.g redemption, good vs evil, forgiveness, betrayal etc
3. The proposed drama series must have a unique, fresh and exciting treatment of the above mentioned themes.
4. The stories must reflect the true authentic narratives of the region (Zambia).

This drama series must be  rooted in story and encourage appointment viewing.

Submission Requirements:

1. Brief synopsis of the concept.
2. Dramatic Question, Premise
3. A statement of intent – why is this series / story important? Why (do you think it) should it be produced?
4. Character biographies for the main characters including their traits, goals, needs and flaws as well an indication of relationships.
5. A summary of the main characters arcs/journeys
6. Episode summaries for 10 episodes
